Summit water level

Does anyone know how the canal's water volume is maintained on the summit level? Are there local rivers or dams feeding the summit, or is water pumped back up? Arrivisto (talk) 17:03, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

I've answered my own question: 13 water-saving locks preserve 2/3 of the water on the down cycle. The summit level is maintained by pumping, presumably using cheap-rate electricity. My source is a YouTube advert at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqSubjKaeb0 . I have not put this "source" on the page; perhaps someone supply find a better source?
