I think 'merge' is the right option, with the existing rickenbacker 4001 page. the only notable user cited here is geddy lee, far better known for his use of standard 4001s & fender jazz basses. mike rutherford? no. his rick double-neck had the guitar at the top & was made for him by a luthier from separate instruments. one notable feature of the 4080 is that both necks are bolt-on, as distinct from rickenbacker's usual neck-through arrangement.
I'd propose additionally that the 4001 page is given a good going-over, & some of the ridiculous 'notable players' list purged. for goodness' sake, mani? (4005) lynott? a few pictures of him with a 4000. but see the talk page.
