Cameras and tolling

[edit]

needs inclusion and references to traffic cams and some of the more modern traffic signaling devices such as passive tolling and tolling.

These aren't within the standard definition of traffic control devices. They do not regulate, warn or guide traffic. Traffic cameras are either monitoring or enforcement devices. Tolling, whether conventional or electronic, is not signalling. It's collecting user fees. If you want to add a section on traffic controlling devices used at toll plazas or for electronic tolling, fine. It may be better off as summary with a link to a separate article. --Triskele Jim 17:25, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
For what it's worth (and yes, I noticed the date on the previous talk entry) cameras are now being utilized in some US locations to control the traffic lights. I've added this to my "to-do" list to see if I can find some neutral sources to add more info to this and some related sections.  Etamni | ✉  05:50, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
