This article seems to be very critical of the partisan affiliation of RTV. It repeatedly questions this issue, and does so with a strong opinion. It does not present a balanced view of this particular issue, and it is therefore not neutral. -PhattyFatt 18:05, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Neutrality is not the same as balance. Neutrality is ascribing opinions to the people who espouse them, rather than presenting them as Wikipedia's own opinions. The requirement is that Wikipedia professes and endorses no opinion, not that "pro-" and "anti-" have equal coverage. The main problem with this article is that it employs weasel words and doesn't state exactly who has voiced the criticisms. Uncle G 16:06, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

RTV is not "non-partisan". Look at the books in their recommended reading list - they are all "progressive" titles.[1] Furthermore, look at their non-profit partners, again almost all progressive organizations.[2]--Davidwiz 16:05, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Exactly. Haizum 21:52, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Non-partisan does not mean "having no political point of view"; it means not being affiliated with a particular party. If RTV is seen as progressive, so be it. Does that make it somehow partisan--leaning toward the Democratic Party? What about the Green Party? What about Working Families? Socialist? It is only through the "winner-takes-all," lesser-of-two-evils lens that progressive can be equated with Democrat. MJFiorello 15:57, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

You are correct. There is no direct links from RTV to Democratic politicians, therefore it is non-partisan. Its primary focus is simply on voter registration, which is a clear and obvious non-partisan objective. Unless documentation from a demonstrably non-partisan source can be provided which indicates otherwise, then RTV is obviously a non-partisan organization. Nels N. Nelson (talk) 21:27, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Calling RTV "non-partisan" is falsing implying that it doesn't have an agenda. RTV is a leftist organization with an interest in promoting the Democratic vote by using spokesmen whom almost exclusively endorse candidates of the Green Party, DSA, and Democratic Party. Everyone knows how Leonardo votes...
That's just your personal opinion. Unless you can provide reference documentation from an already recognized non-partisan source that RTV is in fact not a "non-partisan" organization, then "everybody knows" doesn't cut the mustard. Nels N. Nelson (talk) 21:22, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

RTV in 1992 had direct (or perhaps we should call them "indirect") links to the Clinton Campaign. Their entire purpose [though veiled] was to tap into a dormant voting block...high school/college kids, whom they could easily coax to register 90%+ Democrat, and thus pad Clinton's vote count. It was easy to scare the kids from GHWB and his "evil censorship boogity-men."
Just because RTV has a significant impact in the youth demographic, and the youth demographic doesn't tend to be sympathetic to Grand Old Party candidates, it does not logically follow that RTV is necessarily partisan. Sheesh. You people -- so bitter. Nels N. Nelson (talk) 21:28, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
In no way is RTV 'non-partisan'. Having been stuck on their mailing list for some reason, I can tell you that they regularly use their mailing list to drudge up support for progressive/liberal/socialist policies. RTV is very much an associate to the democrat party. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.133.53.92 (talk) 15:07, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
Prove it. Back up your assertions with documentation from non-partisan sources then. Nels N. Nelson (talk) 21:28, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but anyone who claims that Rock The Vote is non-partisan or doesn't take position that are identical to those of the Democratic Party should visit his nearest physician so he can be checked for brain activity. It takes less than ten seconds on their website to discern their political leanings. HINT: Their positions could have been taken directly from the Democratic Party platform. Anyone who claims otherwise is simply not to be taken seriously. But for the less-than-perceptive out there, the fact that Rock the Vote links to a music video called(in the words of Rock the Vote) "Forward: A New Song and Video in Support of President Obama's Reelection" should dispel the bullshit claim that Rock the Vote is "non-partisan".74.138.45.132 (talk) 01:51, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
