Corporate Governance

Hey folks, Mike from Rogers here. It has recently come to our attention that the Corporate Governance section is out of date, and I was hoping that one of you could assist in updating it. For our most up-to-date Board of Directors, see here: https://investors.rogers.com/corporate-governance/board-of-directors/ And for our Senior Corporate Officers, please use this link: https://about.rogers.com/who-we-are/our-people-strategy/ Thanks in advance! RogersMichaelT (talk) 12:17, 25 October 2018 (UTC)

Hi RogersMichaelT, thanks for requesting here. Just so you know, if you add the {{request edit}} template above your request, it will be listed in a queue that more experienced users keep an eye on for open requests. Someone will be along shortly to have a look at your request. Thanks. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 13:51, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
Ahhh, great to know - thanks so much for the tip, Ivanvector!! :) RogersMichaelT (talk) 13:54, 25 October 2018 (UTC)

  Unable to review edit request
Your edit request could not be reviewed because it is not clear what changes you would like to be made in the article.[a] In the collapsed section below titled Request edit examples, I have illustrated two: The first shows how the edit request was submitted; the second shows how requests should be submitted in the future.

Request edit examples
Incorrectly formatted request:

For our most up to date figures on the sun and the moon, please see here:

<ref>https://www.booksource.com</ref>
<ref>https://www.journalsource.com</ref>
<ref>https://www.websource.com</ref>

In the example above there are three URL's provided along with a vague assertion that information regarding the sun and the moon should be updated. But the request does not state which specific information is to be taken from the sources and which specific information is to remain. The implication is that the COI editor provides the references while the reviewer consults them and then decides which items from those references are to be implemented. This is generally not how COI edit requests work. The procedure is for the COI editor to propose specific changes on the talk page, and for the reviewer to consult the references to confirm those changes. The WikiFormatted text of a correct edit request would resemble the following:

Correctly formatted request:

Please add the following sentence to the first paragraph of the article's "Sun and Moon" section:

The sun's diameter is 864,337.3 miles,<ref>{{cite book|last1=Sjöblad|first1=Tristan|title=The Sun|url=http://www.booksource.com|publisher=Academic Press|date=2018|page=1}}</ref> while the moon's diameter is 2,159 miles.<ref>{{cite journal|last1=Duvalier|first1=Gabrielle|title=Size of the Moon|journal=Scientific American|issue=78|volume=51|url=http://www.journalsource.com|date=2018|page=46}}</ref> The sun's temperature is 5,778 degrees Kelvin.<ref>{{cite book|last1=Uemura|first1=Shu|title=The Sun's Heat|url=http://www.websource.com|publisher=Academic Press|date=2018|page=2}}</ref>

Which displays as:

Please add the following sentence to the first paragraph of the article's "Sun and Moon" section:

  • The sun's diameter is 864,337.3 miles,[1] while the moon's diameter is 2,159 miles.[2] The sun's temperature is 5,778 degrees Kelvin.[3]

In the example above the specific changes from the sources have been listed verbatim on the talk page along with the properly formatted reference citations. As Wikipedia is a volunteer project, edit requests such yours are generally expected to have this formatting done before the request is submitted for review.

Kindly rewrite your edit request so that it aligns more with the second example shown in the collapsed section above, by specifically listing:

  1. Which new executives are to be added
  2. Which already existing executives are to be given new titles
  3. Which already existing executives are to be removed (if any)

Feel free to re-submit that edit request using the {{Request edit}} template at your earliest convenience. If you have any questions about this formatting please don't hesitate to ask myself or another editor. Regards,  Spintendo  00:50, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

  Edit request implemented

  • The requested officer information was added but the COI editor is reminded that this type of list information for company officers is generally not approvable per WP:NOTADIRECTORY.

plus Additional changes made:

  1. Unreferenced information was omitted. In the future, information which is to be added to the article ought to carry references.
  2. The Unreferenced maintenance template placed in the middle section of the article was omitted.
