Just a note on the 600 Series - they didn't have K series engines at any point. THere can sometimes be confusion over the 1.8 engine. This was in the same family of Honda petrol engines which featured the 2.0 and 2.3 litre engines. In the 600 only the T series turbo and L series diesel were Rover's own engines. Successor
[edit]It's claimed that the 600 was replaced by the Rover 75 in the article, the Rover 800 article also makes that claim so which is correct? Thanks Jenova20 15:26, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
- They both are! Zozzie 9t9 (talk) 06:59, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- I needed a bit more research and i see now that they merged the two different models into one with 2 body styles.
- Thanks Zozzie Jenova20 08:20, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- That's OK!
- I think it was a case of concentrating on the one 'big' saloon rather than two niche models, which is certainly how the 800 became. Rover dropping the 800, their largest saloon mirrored other companies. Vauxhall, for instance, dropped the Omega and the Vectra became slightly enlarged with the new model around 2001'ish. I suppose the Rover 75 was really an enlarged 600 in market terms. Interestly in one of the British car magazines an early artist's impression of the 75 actually proclaimed it as the 'New Rover 600'! Hope that's provided a little background to it! Zozzie 9t9 (talk) 23:15, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- It has, thanks for the help in clearing up that confusion Jenova20 12:20, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
I really don't see the point of a page for a single unremarkable model in the 600 range. I propose that the necessary and relevant - if any - data is merged into the main article here. Chaheel Riens (talk) 17:51, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
Header Image
[edit]Have noticed the header image keeps changing.
Suggest current image is best as this reflects a more typical appearance as the header.
Previous image is a Japanese specification model (going on the number plate plinth) an isn't very representative. Also looks like it has had its rear windows tinted which is not standard.

- The Japanese photo is higher quality, better focused and less distraction around it. Just because it a top of a range as that the reason one user reverted my edit doesn't mean it the best image to use. The tinted windows however now you said it I'm not sure. --Vauxford (talk) 18:13, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
- The Japanese spec one isn't standard with its tinted windows and body coloured front fog surrounds. Add to this the front plinth it isn't representative at all of the vast majority of cars. The 620ti image was the header image for a long without any objections. Zozzie 9t9 (talk) 19:55, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
- And silver was a nicer colour! :-D 157.203.254.1 (talk) 05:58, 27 April 2018 (UTC)
