References
[edit]This article is an bad need of references. Some references may have been lost when this article was split in two, as I messed up my original edits. Unfortunately, the other article has been deleted (probably correctly so) so we can't check. There was also a proposed speedy-deletion due to lack of references. The prod had a few useful links: SMTP proxy – news, books, scholar. These show a small, but non-trivial number of usages, but part of the problem is that this subject goes by other names, such as transparent mail proxy – news, books, scholar, transparent email proxy – news, books, scholar, transparent email server – news, books, scholar, or simply SMTP proxy – news, books, scholar since if it is not transparent, it is just a standard SMTP relay. I have to run now, so I can't investigate these more right now, but I wanted to add a few thoughts after contesting the prod. Wrs1864 (talk) 12:46, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
