Contested deletion

[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (I would contest that it is simply promotion as it clearly isn't from a biased point of view. See Wikipedia:CSD#G11. Also this simple page will shortly be bulked out with more information. ) --Bostwickenator (talk) 04:05, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Category?

[edit]

Aren't there any other things like this? I only know about this gizmo, but I was hoping Wikipedia could enlighten me as to other similar things. Some Googling led me the DeLorme, but is there more? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:645:4000:7A80:BDF5:3344:CB1A:6DE (talk) 05:34, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

First of all: Wikipedia is not a buyers guide nor a search engine, so it may not be the best place to find an answer.
Having said that; I didn't find more satellite messengers than what you mention. You may be interested in buying a PLB (Personal Locator Beacon). They send distress signals only (for life-threatening emergencies), not the informal "I'm ok" or "I'm out of gas" messages, so not really similar devices. Different technology also. See the Emergency position-indicating radiobeacon station article. Jahoe (talk) 18:27, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
