Talk:SWMBO
I hesitated to change this before discussion, but I figured I may forget so I was bold and did it now. There was no discussion so I started one.
As it was, a redirect to the "Rumpole of the Bailey" article that it is linked to, I was puzzled, especially since that article doesn't even include the acronym SWMBO. I will add that to that article. I left the Wiktionary tag in even though there is no article there, in the assumption that one will be created someday. Spalding 00:07, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I have to disagree with you. There never should be an article called "SWMBO" at Wikipedia. If there were to be an article on the character, it would correctly be at Hilda Rumpole (and SWMBO could redirect there). Now that Rumpole of the Bailey does include the acronym SWMBO (which frankly I can't remember ever seeing in the books or hearing on the TV series), there's no reason for this not to redirect there. And there should definitely not be a redirect to a nonexistent Wiktionary page in the hopes that one gets written someday. I'm restoring the redirect. Angr/talk 16:45, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
SWMBO isn't just a reference from Rumpole, but used in many context. Similar to terms like PFY, IIRC and other Internet Slang terms. I'll try and remember to write a proper article explaining the use of SWMBO (and other versions, HWMBI = He who may be ignored....) I first heard it on alt.sysadmin.recovery. -PaulHurleyuk 14:09, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
- I searched for SWMBO myself, was discombobulated, and made the redirect into a stub. Hope this helps others a bit... ;-) --Janke | Talk 12:29, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- Well, the stub is somewhat useless. It doesn't even mention Rumpole of the Bailey, nor the novel "She" from where the phrase originates. Either it needs to be expanded back into usefulness, or be an actual redirect. VeryVeryTired (talk) 20:37, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
