Can someone please clarify if this is the same thing as the torus levatorius? Thanks. Bobsagat (talk) 22:47, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

After consulting with my anatomy professor, the terms are not synonymous. However, the levator veli palatini muscle, according to him, is NOT covered by the salpingopalatine fold, and is instead covered by the torus levatorius. If this is incorrect, please provide a reference. I will be attaching a tag to this article to draw attention to this discrepancy. I've also been told that the salpingopalatine fold does, indeed, cover the tensor veli palatini muscle. Bobsagat (talk) 20:20, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct, the levator vili palatini is covered by the torus levatorius and not the salpingopalatine fold. The salpingopalatine fold covers the salpingopalatine muscle. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Med.kate (talkcontribs) 02:57, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
