[edit]- "White Catholic institutions"... This phrase crept in from Serrano's 1932 monograph talking about los monjes blancos (the white monks) so of course it means "white friars" like in the UK. This is not to say the king was not following a racist policy! He certainly was doing so after winning lands from the Moors, but he was also following a religious policy.
