Where is it?

[edit]

I clicked on the location on Google maps. There's nothing there. I've driven out that road. There's nothing there. Where is it? CsikosLo (talk) 23:09, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Glad you posted this. Judging from some research on the Geoportal it looks like there actually isn't any village anymore. Only a defunct border crossing, located along the Qatar-UAE Road, and a well, situated quite a ways away. Maybe the village was depopulated and its inhabitants were reconsolidated into another nearby village, or perhaps there wasn't any village to begin with? Reference 6 - Jacques LeBlanc (2008) - is where the village was mentioned. I also got the coordinates from there, which I think are for the well, but I'll try and do some research this weekend and at least update the coordinates (from the Geoportal) to reflect the built-up border post rather than an isolated well. After reading the reference I noted, I don't see a village mentioned in the Sawda Natheel entry (page 71) except on the very next entry concerning Trainah. I must've been confused or made an assumption, sorry. Fixed it. (As a side note the population and area are for Zone 97, which under the national census was labeled as "Sawda Natheel").
