Revert
[edit]01-08-05:
Reverted to Nuggetboy's last edit as of 20:51, 13 May 2005.
Revisions by 24.75.75.34 seem to be unfounded and lacking in multi-sourced research, other edits only served to generalize previous statements. Please state sources if you or anyone else objects.
Saws
[edit]Jan 1, 2006:
I just looked at the two large "saws" again that I brought with me to San Francisco 4 years ago. They are a family heirloom from my grandfather's time in the German navy (Weimar time - i.e. 20's) given to him as commander of a Navy cruiser on a good-will tour around the world. I was told they are from Indonesia - Borneo, Sumatra. They are both still very sturdy and about 4' long with about 30 pretty long teeth (1") on each side. I would like to know how I can tell what kind of a sawfish it is. Green sawfish or smalltooth saw fish. In the publicized descriptions I can only find species differences in the form and color of the fish itself. Can anybody help? Thanks Hans Kolbe hanskolbe@celantrasystems.com
This is the worst article I think I have seen on Wikipedia. Someone with some knowledge about sawfish, please clean it up.
why
[edit]i was just thinking why are the sawfish endangered its for a school report
Age
[edit]Is the life expectancy correct in this article? According to this article Buzz, a sawfish, is at least 42? Link: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2010/11/15/BA3U1GCFJ9.DTL&tsp=1 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.130.34.137 (talk) 07:15, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
Cleanup
[edit]I added a 'cleanup' tag to the article. It's not terrible by any means, but it needs some serious work here and there. It's relatively minor stuff, but distracting nonetheless. 67.249.178.169 (talk) 14:15, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Seeing that your complaint was about grammar, I have changed the template to a more fitting. If it only is "in a few spots", I would suggest you correct it. 62.107.214.63 (talk) 04:43, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
Incorrect Attribution
[edit]The photo that's been used for the Smalltooth is not a smalltooth sawfish. I clicked the photo and the owner of the photo labeled it a largetooth. I made the change in one place, but the photo is elsewhere on this page. Georgia Aquarium only has largetooth and green sawfish. http://www.georgiaaquarium.org/animalguide/oceanvoyagerbuiltbythehomedepot/greensawfish.aspx I am not sure how to fix this, but wanted to point it out to someone who does know how to correct it. - Thanks for that. --Epipelagic (talk) 17:59, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
Lacks even BASIC information
[edit]The article somehow omits any and all reasons why the fish belongs to rats rather than sharks. 91.223.75.139 (talk) 12:56, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
