Added some external references. Shade 3D is the oldest and dominant 3D software in Japan and one of the few applications other than console games to originate in Japan. It is also the only 3d software to make use of curved surface implementations for modeling - it is notable by its age and by its original features. Chikako (talk) 00:49, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't believe it's the only 3D software to use curved surface modeling. There are other products that also support curve-based methods like NURBS or patch modeling. I'm not a Shade user so I can't say how similar its implementation is to other methods, but it's definitely not the only one. --Hakanai (talk) 23:51, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
NURBS is a form of curved surface modeling that emerged after Shade implemented its curved surface modeling model in the late 1980s. Likewise, Shade updated its format of curved surface model to respect NURBs style modeling as an option. There are other formats that use curves, yes, but they emerged later and aren't necessarily referred to as curved surface modeling as Shade is. Chikako (talk) 17:37, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
