Ying & Yang Yo-Yo's

I think there needs to be a clarification on the yo-yo's. I thought that if one used only the Ying yo-yo their good chi would be left behind while using only the Yang yo-yo their bad chi would be left behind. Jack came back good the first time because he had the reversing mirror with him when the gang used both yo-yo's to leave. Good Jack as well as Master Fung and Omi came out bad because they didn't have the Yang yo-yo. Was this changed in the episode "The Life and Times of Hannibal Roy Bean" so that they are now interchangable?

Keep in mind that a Xiaolin Showdown alters the laws of reality in order to make things more interesting for the contest. Having the Yo-Yo's act as they did during the showdown certainly made it more interesting. Another possibility is that on the occasions when both were in the Ying-Yang World, the evil Kimiko would have every reason to have good Wuya head back to our world by means of a portal opened by the Ying Yo-Yo and return to evil and vice-versa. If neither of those satisfy you, just remember it's only a TV show, so don't sweat minor continuity gaffes. Caerwine 23:11, 2 October 2005 (UTC)

hmm... intersting. Wait? who altered my thing on the Ying/Yang Yoyos? Kimiko was bing stupid! now there's really no point in it being there! I don't think the effect would change, maybe, they do only leave their good chi and the chi monster gives it back/takes it away each time they return and dojo just made up the reversing mirror stuff?

List Order

The list of Shen Gong Wu is starting to get a bit long. Any opinions about switching to an alphabetic list? The appearance order also occurs in the episode list, so having it appear only there might be worth contemplating. Caerwine 00:27, 3 November 2005 (UTC)

Yes I role play myself , but I perfer this order. Its most useful to know which wu were first activated.

Wudai Weapons as Wu?

I am pretty sure that Wudai Weapons don't really count as Shen Gong Wu. They "chose" the person who uses them and I don't think they have been wagered in showdowns. Do they belong on this page? - White Wolf Zita

I agree, I think that the Wudai Weapons should be moved to their own page, since I'm pretty sure they're warrior-specific items.

As a note, if the Wudai Weapons were Wu, then Dojo would be able to sense them, and Jack would be after them. Also, Wu do what they do whenever anyone says their names, whether you know what they do or not (Jack doesn't know after Wuya left him). Also, many things other than Wu can be wagered in Showdowns (loyalty & the Treasure of the Blind Swordsman, for example). Speaking of the TBS, it is connected to the weapons, and is explicitly NOT a Wu, so the Weapons shouldn't be either.

The Wudai weapons ARE Shen Gong Wu. I'm guessing that the reason they don't wager them in a Xialon showdown, is because the Wudai weapons only works on the warriors they choose. For example, the Shimo Staff works for Omi. But, if somebody else used it, say Jack, it would either not work or backfire him. Besides, if you were given a special weapon just for you, you wouldn't want to wager it in a showdown and have a chance to lose it if you lost, wouldn't you? - Raistuumum

Chase probably stole them just so the Xialon couldn't use them.

The Wudai Weapons are NOT Shen Gong Wu for this main reason: No one but the Xiaolin Dragons were after them. Jack was after the treasure, Wuya lied to Chase so she could go where the Weapons were, and neither she nor Dojo reacted to them. As in, not Shen Gong Wu...

Can I end this argument? I hope so. All one needs for a theory is something that cannot yet be disproven. Your theory is out the window for a main reason: When did Dojo react? And if they were Shen Gong Wu, Wuya would never let the Xiaolin Dragons keep them (they took a blind old guy rather than the weapons). And Wuya needs all the Shen Gong Wu to regain her powers if she's already solid (can she beat Chase Young by herself?). If there is a flaw in my logic, I ask you this; When did Dojo react to the Weapons? He can feel approximately where Shen Gong Wu are, yet they used a map and the Crouching Cougar...

Then shouldn't we list them (along with the treasure) on 'Other Mystical Objects' , or something ? Or should we simple keep them here.

Does Wuya need all shen gong wu to return to full power? I thought she was just waiting for the right one/s and no, they aren't Shen Gong Wu, they're Wudai Weapons

Do you think the Spear of Guan is Master Monk Guan's Wudai Weapon? Does he have one? I put a thing on the article about the possibility, but never said it was a Wudai Weapon. If you think it should not be there, You are free to delete it.

I'm pretty sure they are not because they are a little to powerful they have second abilities while shen gong wu only has one here are the examples: 1. The blade of the nebula can generate wind tunnels and pick up enemies. 2. The arrow sparrow has an infinite supply of metal sparrows and catches on fire and then blows up on contact. 3. When thrown, it can cut through anything it can also split into 5 smaller versions of itself for a multiple attack and sometimes Clay has a hard time catching it usually when it has splits into its multiple form, and has to jump out of the way of it making it even to powerful for clay. 4. It can transform into many weapons made of ice since it is made of solid water or ice and seems to have human feelings and emotions. Is the treasure of the blind swordsman a shen gong Wu because when I added all the know shen gong WU including the card ones it added up to 95+ the treasure of the bilnd swordsman= 96 (+ wudai weapons could = 100 IN TOTAL could they have obtained all the shen gong WU)Youknowme(youdon'tknowme) 23:25, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

More Shen Gong Wu

The Shen Gong Wu in Known Shen Gong Wu are not the only unknown, in episode 106 Chameleon Jack took a strange thing from the Shen Gong Wu safe.

Found Something. Quote from tv.com:"When Jack is plundering the Shen-Gong-Wu vault, the first thing he picks up is an item that looks a bit like a whistle. It is a sphere with two cones attached to it. This doesn't look like any Shen-Gong-Wu seen on the show before. (Edit)"

I believe it's a Shen Gong Wu, because it was on the Shen Gong Wu vault, and only Master Fung and Dojo know where the Shen Gong Wu where before Jack stole the vault, making difficult to it be a personal item.

Only Master Fung and Dojo? Did not the monks entered in the Shen Gong Wu vault in episode 2? And the green thing Jack took or is a Shen Gong Wu or maybe a magic object like the Treasure of Blind Swordman. If not, why Jack would want to steal it? 201.9.107.241

It's probrably a shen gong wu from an episode that never got aired, maybe we'll see it sometime, maybe we wont, maybe the production team could answer all our questions, maybe they can't

Article problems

I have just noticed that the Shen Gong Wu names are always having changes (the Hoduko Mouse and the Silk Spitter have the record). Isn't it better if we decide wich name should stay? Almost all Shen Gong Wu names appeared in the scrolls, and the ones that don´t appear (like the two above) could have the names taken from the card game. Please, don't make changes in the names without having 100% sure that the name is correct. I don't know about the Shen Ga Wu and the others that don't appeared, but maybe in the videogame or in other place they name will appear... =Another major problem is that people don't know where things go. Someone recently put the Ants in the Pants and the Cannon Blaster (revealed in Hannibal's Revenge, Feb. 25, 2006) before the Elemental Shen Gong Wu. All four Elemental Shen Gong Wu were used in that very episode, along with the Kuzusu Atom. Shen Gong Wu lists can be very confusing, but this list clearly states that they should be in order of appearance (so the Jetbootsu comes before the Monkey Staff, even though they were revealed in the same Showdown).

Unknown Shen Gong Wu

In the Shen Gong Wu Trove (The Crystal Glasses), only appeared in this order, a trumpet, Lasso Boa Boa (not three rings), a lamp, a silver thing that Jack was holding, Monsoon Sandals, a barette thing, and the Wushu Helmet. I don't have seen a small black staff on it. The only "staff" I have seen is the silver thing Jack was holding.

Doesn't Master Monk Guan find the Lasso Boa-Boa and the Monsoon sandals?

They appeared in the SGW Trove, and them reappeared later like they where not in the trove (weird isn't?). And the "trumpet" is the Woozy Shooter and the "silver thing" is the Silver Manta Ray on it's big size. The lamp is called The hang-chi lantern. --Jackexe 10:06, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

If there are hundereds of shen gong wu then the series is going to go on to season 7? i think that there is yet ANOTHER group of shen gong wu finders.

It's not obrigatory to show all the Shen Gong Wu. Many shows have incomplete features in the end, like the 88 zodiacal armors and the 108 Surplices in Saint Seiya (many of them don't appeared). There are 85 Shen Gong Wu, +4 Wudai Weapons and the Treasure of the Blind Swordsman. There is still a lot to be find. Maybe in the expansion packs of the TCG and in Konami's game will show more, (but I also hope to see more seasons and Shen Gong Wus). --Jackexe 23:14, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

I would just like to note that the show itself held over 70 Shen Gong Wu in the first three seasons. Let's say seasons 4 & 5 were very good for the Shen Gong Wu lists. The biggest season was Season 2, with a lot of new Shen Gong Wu. If it follows this pattern of about 70 Shen Gong Wu within two seasons, it can reach over 200 with only 6 seasons. However, I would personally like it to go on only until a reasonable amount; Too many Shen Gong Wu would be hard to keep in a vault.

As for the mystery about the Shen Gong Wu disappearing; I cannot remember if Omi had the bag of Shen Gong Wu, and if not, then they could all have been washed away by the waterfall. Remember, the Lasso Boa-Boa was in a tree, and the Monsoon Sandals were in a wading pool. And, the most important piece of info: The Crystal Glasses were in a Russian museum that had very little chance of existing 1,500 years ago.

when people say the berrette thing, do th mean the pink shurikan-like object with 4 blades? I thought a berrette was a type of french hat

The Crystal Glasses was found in the museum before they have gone to the cave, and I also thing it looks more like a strange shuriken them a barrette. Who gonna want to use a sharp thing in the head?

I think the Wu Combos section is getting a bit too big, I don't think that it should be random Combos that have been used, i.e. Star Hinabi, Orb of Tornami, and Sword of the Storm used in the deep freeze, and have Combos that have been specifically outlined in the show, Like ones with unexpected results, Shen gong Wu Siblings and/or Ones which Master Fung or Dojo or Wuya pointed out. And I don't think we should have Serpents tail - Reversing Mirror if we already have reversing mirror - Any. I don't really know about Monkey Staff - Tongue of Saiping as I haven't seen the episode, but from what I've heard it doesn't sound like a combo but it would be good to point out in the combos page.

Fan Made Combos

Gills Of Hamachi

The Gills Of Hamachi, if used w/ the reversing mirror, disallow swimming and water breathing. However, if they were used on, say, a mermaid, wouldn't it allow overwater breathing

Very possible, but the listing of Gills of Hamachi under Reversing Mirror is what happens in the series when the two are used at the same time. Therefore, it's not going to be listed on the article. Ryulong 22:05, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Issues

Something needs to be done about this - since this page is about the Shen Gong Wu, shouldn't the actual Shen Gong Wu be listed here, and the combinations (and theories therein) listed on a seperate page? Also, some of the information listed is blatantly wrong, although I've already tried fixing some of it.

New comments go at the bottom. Also, there is an entire page dedicated to the Known Shen Gong Wu and it was made because it made this article too long (the other page is getting long, too). There are no theoretical combinations listed on this page or false information. Any combinations listed have been seen on the show at one point or another, and the Reversed Shen Gong Wu have also been used on the show (to the best of my knowledge). I have worked to remove the various fake Shen Gong Wu added here and to the other page, as well as a mass of fan-created combinations of Shen Gong Wu. There was even an attempt to put a fan-character list at the end of this article, at one point. Ryulong 08:07, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Proposed merge

I believe you deleted my Kususu Atom post, and you posted on it a couple hours later. What do you have to say about that?

And what about this Mikado Arm? I never heard of it before.

The Mikado Arm is the only Shen Gong Wu revealed in the 3rd season finale, which apparently aired in the UK before the US. As for your Kusuzu Atom post, it may have been due to misplacement. The articles are to be in order of appearance; also, anything you write may be edited, and so it may have just been edited to the point that it was no longer recognizable.

A removed combo

I had put in that the Glove of and Reversing Mirror repel objects when used together, but someone deleted it. However, I didn't just make that up. In 214: Screams of the Siren, Clay used this combo to repel Jack's Shark-bots. Please don't remove it.

Foolishness

Does anyone know what Shen Gong Wu means? For all we know it may mean "Foolish Round Eyes give us money" I would like to hear if there is any basis in Chinese myth. Where did the authors of the cartoon derive their information. Wiki is more powerful than merely a listing of cartoon titbits.

What does Xiaolin and Heylin mean? I know what shaolin is I mean...

Xiaolin is just a pun on shaolin, there isn't supposed to be a connection, it isn't saying this is what Shaolin monks are like, and Shaolin is something like Young forest, (madarin I think) and heylin is dark Forest I think, in Romanised Mandarin, or somthing like that

I think "Shen Gong Wu" and "Wudai" are just supposed to sound like "cool" chinese. You know like you make up a superhero and name him "Zeloro". That would just be making a name you think is cool. And the "Xiaolin thing" it is just changing Shiaolin into a strange word. Strange words are popular. What does "Jong" mean?

Shen Gong Roo

I'm confused about the Shen Gong Roo. Every single time I hear the name, it sounds like Shengaroo. In fact, I've never heard the second 'g' sound in the name. And it's not exactly like they sound very similar: Shen-Gong-Roo - Shen-Ga-Roo
