I'm fairly certain that Max Keeble isn't the inspiration for the movie which the article refers to. Therefore, due to this incorrectness I've taken out the offending line. If it needs to be put back, revert or, if you prefer, remove the 'comment' tags that are still in the article somewhere. Psychade 13:27, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
In all fairness I don't think that any of the so-called "notable alumni" listed are all that notable to an audience outside of Australia, or even Perth for that matter, with the exception of Ms. Ward. Hence I am reverting the page as it seems nonsensical to remove the name of someone who actually had a movie made for them. Very few people, let alone teenagers can boast that honour. In any case, it is certainly more "notable" than being elected to the presidency of a University Student Senate.
That may be the case, but Wikipedia is a database of knowledge. This knowledge must be factual. It's therefore useless to have information which is completely untrue. It's also useless to alter information to make it 'look good'. I have spoken to Maxwell Keeble of Shenton College and he prefers not to have his name on the Shenton College article as he believes it gives a wrong inpression of him. The movie, Max Keeble's Big Move, is not in any way related to Maxwell Keeble. I am therefore reverting the article back to it not having his name. Psychade 11:34, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
I support that motion. Also, I will ask who are you in both senses. You have not signed your comment, and I would also like to know who YOU are, as only a handful of people actually know who Keeble is. Black-Velvet 12:58, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
As an alumnus of this school, though certainly not notable, I've decided to remove the section on alumni. Here's my reasoning:
1. Gemma Ward, as famous as she is, never GRADUATED from Shenton College, and hence cannot be considered an alumnus in the true sense of the word.
2. As for the other names mentioned, they are not known to the general public.
3. In all honesty, it was a bit ridiculous for someone to begin a "Notable Alumni" section at this point in the school's history. This being its fifth year, the vast majority of its graduates are still in university, or have only just graduated i.e. they simply have not had the opportunity to achieve "notable" things just yet. It is no shame for Shenton to not have notable alumni this early in its history.
4. As anyone can see simply by viewing the Edit History of this article, it is quite apparent that the Notable Alumni section has been used simply to harrass and embarrass current or former students. With this Max Keeble business just being the latest chapter. I bet the poor guy got teased enough at school when the movie came out. Furthermore, it is bordering on ridiculous that the creator of the Shenton College article was so intimidated he felt the need to ask for the deletion of his own user page.
For the aforementioned reasons I have removed the alumni section. If anyone wishes to revert my edits they are clearly free to do so, but please address my above concerns in the talk page first. I elliot 14:02, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
Seconded. Psychade 08:58, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
