The notoriously unreliable (and very difficult to correct) Internet Movie Database confuses Simon West the film director with Simon West the child actor ("Swallows and Amazons", 1973), having them both being born in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, in 1961. I recently obtained the original exhibitors campaign press book for "Swallows and Amazons" and it gives Simon West the child actor's birthdate as Monday, July 17th, 1961. It would be far too much of a coincidence if this were also Simon West the director's date of birth. but it may help to clear the confusion if someone here could add his date of birth to his Wikipedia page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DavidRayner (talk • contribs) 20:12, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
