Talk:Sock it to me
Appearance
('Retha vs. Laff-in)
[edit]I think it is an error to redirect "Sock it to me" to Laugh-In. It should be redirected to earlier usage. The earliest usage I could find was in Aretha Franklin's version of the Otis Redding song RESPECT.

Half article, half Dab!
[edit] ... and thereby grossly non-compliant as a Dab. If we can confirm that Aretha explained whether she was singing about a night of sex, or of exuberant music (and perhaps dancing), it should probably become primarily about her performance of it, but include a section about the broader meme.
Pending any such confirmation, i'm removing the dab tag, and treating the other uses of it as occasions for garden-variety links to related articles.
