Warrant card?

[edit]

This extract appears in the "Current legal practice" section, paragraph 2: "the Metro Hotel refused the non-uniformed soldier when he presented his army warrant card". When I was serving, I did not possess a "warrant" card, (that was left to the police). I know the reference refers to a "warrant" card but an identity card or ID card (MOD Form 90) is what soldiers are still issued with. So, is "warrant" card the right choice of phrase?
