Writing and recording

[edit]

Sessions with Tedder

[edit]
  • "'sneak preview – to remind people we exist'" - "'sneak preview – to remind people we exist'" (non-breaking space)
The non-breaking space is before the dash.
  • "Bono said, 'Some would come and go in favor, and some you could get them halfway up the hill, three-quarters of the way up the hill. A lot of times, we just couldn't get them up to the top of the hill. And that was the humbling element. And there's some humiliation in realizing that your talent is just not up to the task.'" - Close paragraphing.

Composition

[edit]
  • "[...] he said, 'We wanted to make a very personal album... Let's try to figure out why we wanted to be in a band, the relationships around the band, our friendships, our lovers, our family. The whole album is first journeys—first journeys geographically, spiritually, sexually. And that's hard. But we went there.'" - Close paragraphing.
  • "[...] its theme of 'how holding on to your own innocence is a lot harder than holding on to someone else's.'" - "[...] its theme of 'how holding on to your own innocence is a lot harder than holding on to someone else's.'" ("how" outside the quote).

Critical reception

[edit]
  • "'They camouflage their nostalgia in the sound of modernity; they play gigantic music about intimacy; they want to expand their horizons without leaving home. They want to be everything to everyone and, in attempting to do so, they've wound up with a record that appeals to a narrow audience: fellow travelers who either thrill at the spectacle or dig for the subtleties buried underneath the digital din.'." - Close paragraphing, two full stops/periods.

Track listing

[edit]
  • "^[a] – additional production" - "^[a]  – additional production" (non-breaking space)
The non-breaking space is before the dash.

On hold (though it doesn't need much to pass.) – electricController 19:56, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The nbsp's are fixed. I'm not sure I understand the concern with the "holding on to your own innocence" quote, as the word "how" is part of the original quote. I will trim down the other quote shortly. Y2Kcrazyjoker4 (talkcontributions) 20:43, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I had verified another site (not the original source), and the word "how" was not mentioned. Sorry, you're right. – electricController 22:08, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Since all the issues were adressed, I will pass the article. – electricController 12:36, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
