Sousuke's Age

[edit]

I removed the birthdate from the infobox. At least until a new reliable source is found. It uses a fake Mithril report as a source for his birthdate from one of the episodes. The key word being fake. Showers (talk) 06:25, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Few Things

[edit]

If he is of Japanese descent, can we put in the categories box that he is an " Arab anime and manga characters " I do not think that is correct. The same can be argued for the " Fictional Afghans " entry. I am going to change it. If you want to change it, please feel free to provide a source. Thanks!

You're right that he is not an Arab in any way, but I think the Fictional Afghans category should stay, since he obviously grew up in Afghanistan and was of Afghan nationality for much of his childhood. Regards, Jagged 85 (talk) 01:21, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I argue that he was never granted any official residency within Afghanistan and never granted citizenship. From a legal standpoint he is not an Afghani by any measure. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.180.80.101 (talk) 06:53, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sousuke's ethnicity

[edit]

Why does it say Sousuke is of "Aryian" descent? Aryan descent means he's of Indo-European descent. Every source I know of, (manga, anime, light novel) says he's of Japanese ethnicity. It is because of that reason, and his age that he was chosen to be the primary guard for Kaname Chidori in the first place. SakuraFanelia (talk) 20:29, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sousuke's Time in Afghanistan/Helmajistan

[edit]

I have changed "He is capable of reciting the Qur'an from memory, probably due to his INFANCY in a Muslim country,.." to "He is capable of reciting the Qur'an from memory, probably due to his CHILDHOOD in a Muslim country,.." as Sousuke had never entered Afghanistan/Helmajistan until he was about 8 years old as stated in the (manga/anime/novels). "Infancy" may make it seem like he was much younger than 8 years old. --SakuraFanelia (talk) 05:01, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

About a pirated edition. 'Sousuke Sangal'

[edit]

http://fullmetalpanic.wikia.com/wiki/Sousuke_Sagara

"The words printed there were 'Sousuke Sangal', which is the name of a place, not a person, making Japanese fans wonder if it is moreso the name of the place he and his mother were headed, or came from, and not his name."

I am Japanese FMP fan. Is a pirated edition(Setting is changed) sold abroad?60.39.33.249 (talk) 01:25, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Constant Edits to Ethnicity

[edit]

Someone keeps changing his ethnicity/nationality to Afghan, or half-Afghan, in spite of the fact that this is incorrect. They say the manga hints it, but it never once does, it says the same thing every other source does, which is that he went to Afghanistan when he was 8, and was sent there by the Russians. Nothing about that indicates Afghan as part of his ethnicity. I have fixed this multiple times, and most recently, I included quotes of the novels (the original source material) that outright state that he's Japanese. It's silly that I have to include such citations directly in the entry, but without it, I'm afraid it will get changed again. (It still might). Does anyone know of any way to ensure that the person constantly editing it to the false information loses the ability to change it? It's frustrating to come by every few months and see it warped again.
