Thanks for starting the article. One suggestion, though: punctuate it as "hip hop", rather than "Hip Hop", as the former is the more common, accepted grammatical convention(even though hip hop culture often uses the latter more often, this encyclopedias for everybody). Thanks, --Urthogie 21:00, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for doing that Ivan, but please remember not to use a hyphen, as is the convention.--Urthogie 07:22, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pretoria and personal opinion

[edit]

I removed a reference to Pretoria now being named Tshwane as this is not the case, as explained on the Pretoria page. In addition this page needs a good cleanup as it is written in a very non-encyclopaedic style, being full of statements of opinion such as that South African hip hop is going through a "very exciting stage". This is pure personal opinion and value judgement and adds nothing to our knowledge - I for one do not find hip hop the least bit exciting. If there is evidence that it is changing rapidly or becoming more popular these would be facts that could be added to the article to make it more informative.
