Hello. I will be doing a review of this article. If you would like to return the favour, I have several good article nominations right now at WP:GAN. Steelkamp (talk) 07:22, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Good article criteria

[edit]

Well written

[edit]
  • Measurements should be consistent. 8 ft (244 cm) vs eight-foot-tall (240 cm). The conversions should be the same and whether its letters or numbers should be consistent. Steelkamp (talk) 16:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Revised.
  • There are four instances of "CWVBIA" that are not preceded by "the". Steelkamp (talk) 16:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • I think I've revised them all.
  • spring 2021. – As per MOS:SEASON, calendar months should be used instead of seasons. Steelkamp (talk) 16:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Revised.
  • "The Society for Converting and Civilizing the Indians and Propagating the Gospel Among Destitute Settlers in Upper Canada" – Doesn't need to be in quotes as it is the name of something. Steelkamp (talk) 16:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Removed.
  • The letter cited as cause for the removal Wood's status as a founding member and treasurer of... – This is confusing. Steelkamp (talk) 16:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Revised.

Verifiable with no original research

[edit]
  • in a ceremony attended by nearly 300 people. – Source says over 300 people attended. Slightly different meaning. Steelkamp (talk) 16:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Revised.
  • The statue was formally unveiled at the corner of Church and Alexander Streets in Toronto on May 28, 2005 – Refs 3 and 6 only say May 2005, not the specific day. You could remove those refs from the sentence and instead use ref 5 which states the specific day. Steelkamp (talk) 16:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Done.
  • to which three plaques that listed information about Wood's life and history were affixed. – Citations following that statement don't show there to be three plaques. Steelkamp (talk) 16:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Revised.

Broad in its coverage

[edit]
  • I take it that there are no sources from when the statue was built that were negative towards it, correct me if I'm wrong. Steelkamp (talk) 16:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Correct, the statue was benign until a year ago.

Neutral

[edit]

Stable

[edit]

Illustrated, if possible

General

I'm going to place this review on hold now. The article was an interesting read and is quite close to reaching the good article criteria. Steelkamp (talk) 16:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
