Subgenomic mRNA

[edit]

Hello all, I'm not an expert on the subject, is SgRNA Subgenomic RNA, Subgenomic mRNA or Guide RNA? I ask because SgRNA originally redirected to Guide RNA, I have now changed this to redirect to Subgenomic mRNA as Subgenomic RNA article doesn't exist. Subgenomic RNA now redirects to Subgenomic mRNA. (I have also added SgRNA to {{Nucleic acids}}.) Kind regards, Captain n00dle\Talk 13:55, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

p.s. I don't know if there is useful information to include on this website [1] Captain n00dle\Talk 13:58, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In fact subgenomic mRNA is called sgmRNA in literature and not sgRNA which is something totaly different. The redirection needs to be changed for subgenomic mRNA and Guide RNA#Structure. You can see an example for the usage of the abrevation here C. J.; Murtaugh, M. P.; Faaberg, K. S. (1999): Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus comparison: divergent evolution on two continents. In: Journal of virology 73 (1), S. 270–280. DOI: 10.1128/JVI.73.1.270-280.1999.
