...Sugar Ray Leonard was often accused by media types, as well as "the Hawk" himself, to have ducked Aron Pryor repeatedly throughought their careers. It was said Ray purposely tried to stay a weight class above Pryor for fear of losing to him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.193.80.173 (talk) 20:51, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

First world title opponent?
Won against whom? More detail needed. The first defense opponent is named, but not the one from whom he won the title in the first place. 143.239.96.226 (talk) 12:52, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
GA failed
Ok, I'm the main contributor on Sugar Ray Robinson which is a GA and like boxing but I had to fail this. The lead is not an adequate summary of the article and should be expanded (see WP:LEAD), the writing is substandard in that there are a lot of short paragraphs and in the end a succession of single sentence paragraphs. This hurts the overall narrative flow of the article and makes it like a series of facts more than overarching story of this man's life. It reads more like proseline in sections, which is poor writing.
There's still a lot of unsourced info. The description of someone as a "great" knockout artist violates WP:WTW and should be sourced, preferably put into quotes or removed. The first paragraph in the Change in plans section need some sources, especially since this is a BLP and it talks about a decision they made about abortion. There are several quotes without inline citations. The First World Title section has several of them. The first sentence in the Revenge in New Orleans section needs a quote. There's also quotations in the third, fourth, and sixth paragraphs of that section with no inline citation. The Showdown section needs more sources. He's accused of being a cocaine user without a source in the personal life section and there's a bunch more quotations without inline citations in that section as well.
There are a lot of sections which are not written in an encyclopedic tone (see WP:TONE) such as this paragraph:
Duran forced the issue and took the fight to Leonard, cutting off the ring and denying Leonard space to fight his fight. Duran attacked at almost every turn. Leonard battled back again and again, but he had to work just to find room to breathe and swing, at times simply to survive. In the second, Duran rocked Leonard with a left hook, sending back against the ropes. Leonard started to do better by the fifth round, finding some punching room and throwing numerous multi-punch combinations. The two fought with great intensity throughout the fight.
There's a lot of work to be done but what's here is a decent start. Quadzilla99 (talk) 11:49, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
