I can confirm the use of the term "Suicide Tuesdays" in South Africa, in multiple cities (Port Elizabeth & Cape Town). While I am out of 'the scene', it was certainly in use for the period stretching from approximately 10 to 5 years ago.

MDMA.net has a quote: "Ecstasy has enormous appeal, but people crash afterward," says Dr. Robert Klitzman. "If they're doing ecstasy on a Saturday night, there's 'Suicide Tuesday.'"

Does this count?

I can also confirm the use of this phrase in Australia, and i have heard it in literature relating to british MDMA use as well, although i forget the exact place i read it. While i would agree that this page needs a bit of tidying up, something that i am about to attempt to adress (no promises on success) i would argue against its deletion. perhaps make it slightly less harsh and simply more of an encyclopaedic definition, to something slightly more accurate. bumpoh

I am much more satisfied with the article as it is now. Previously -- when I proposed it for speedy deletion-- it was a tissue of abberation and lies.--DragonFly31 23:54, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Never heard this phrase in the UK, and it doesn't even sound like something anyone in the scene here would say. Sounds like something out of anti-drug propaganda to me, but that's just my opinion. I think there should really be at least -one- citation on this page that actually uses the phrase, or it should be deleted. -Joey- (talk) 09:16, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've never heard it either. Someone who has never used it told me that she heard you get like a week-long depression, so to me the notion sounds like something invented by people who hasn't tried MDMA.--74.73.177.138 (talk) 01:06, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I searched for the term after hearing it in an episode of the British quiz show QI just now; regular panellist Alan Davies mentioned it during episode six of the fifth series, claiming that Suicide Tuesday is the reason he never uses ecstasy, after explaining to host Stephen Fry what the term means. Very shocked. Come from Kent, now live in London and in both places I know lots of people that know it. The only people I know that have not heard of it are not in the scene. But definitely a well known word from what I've seen in the UK, down south anyway. To answer the person above and the "week long depression" it can happen and it's different with different people and also different times. I have had a downer for longer then just Tuesday, but usually I get it on a Wednesday if I forget to take my 5-HTP. Also, the article states taking 5HTP, magnesium and L-tyrosin can help however this is wrong, Vit C and 5-HTP should be included in post-rolling along with Turkey meat. However, people should look up pre and post MDMA rolling for more details —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.223.199.229 (talk) 19:41, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
