On merging February 11 Rafah attack page

[edit]

@ForsythiaJo If you'd like to bring some of those details from that page you worked on into this one, I think that makes perfect sense, however removing the name and connections when both connections are cited and published in major journals as well as in common parlance doesn't make sense. There's also relevant information about the advertisements bought for the 2024 Super Bowl that make the connection. LaborRising (talk) 01:57, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The term "Super Bowl massacre" does not seem to be a term used by reliable/mainstream sources, including the Associated Press, Al Jazeera, and Reuters. Furthermore, naming the event after a separate event taking place on a different continent seems misleading (implications of a massacre taking place at a Super Bowl event) and American-centric.
I see no issue with including American reactions/criticism to the event, and the fact that the Israeli gov bought an ad may be worth mentioning. I don't see the point of mentioning the StopJewishHate ad in the article, as it is not directly related to the subject of the article. ForsythiaJo (talk) 02:03, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Two sources did directly talk about the coincidence and one named "Super Bowl Massacre" in the article. I think it's safe to say it's notable enough to be mentioned, but not to warrant it's own article with a less used name. Personisinsterest (talk) 02:07, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, including the term in the body of the article/section on international reactions is fine if it's supported by the sources. ForsythiaJo (talk) 02:09, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I just added these details into the main page. should be safe to merge. Personisinsterest (talk) 02:03, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
