Canada's Supply Management agricultural/dairy/poultry system

[edit]

It seems like Canada's system is missing here. I hope someone can add a new section or disambiguation about it.

I'm thinking of things like explained int this article, quotas, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dairy_Farmers_of_Manitoba 99.245.173.200 09:27, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agricultural Context

[edit]

In the world of agricultural policy, "supply management" means programs or steps to reduce the supply of an agricultural commodity, or to try to keep supply in line with consumption. This was a main component of US government policy from the New Deal to the 1990's. Voluntary action for some crops through co-ops or cartels occurred before the New Deal and since 1996. The US dairy industry currently has a voluntary program.Bill Harshaw (talk) 22:46, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
