Could we discuss this more? I don't think the move was necessary. Joseph's works are much more well known than Michael's. The choice long ago was to simple use (Haydn) for Joseph and (Michael Haydn) for Michael. Thanks. DavidRF (talk) 16:57, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Delahays: Well, the opening theme is treated fugally, and it is labelled as one in the score (I link to H. C. Robbins Landon's complete edition of the Haydn symphonies, available on IMSLP). Double sharp (talk) 16:13, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
