Holding the chromosomes together
[edit]Shouldn't this article mention what holds the homologous chromosomes together. Human Genetics: Concepts and Applications, 6th Edition by Ricki Lewis (ISBN 0-07-287735-9) has this to say: "A mixture of RNA and protein holds the chromosome pairs together." —Gordon P. How can the magic work?
[edit]How can the cell realize that two different chromosones are homologous? Does each of the 22 chromosones have distinct markers? Some expansion on this would be good from an expert. Tuntable (talk) 02:24, 5 August 2019 (UTC)
