[edit]It's many years since I lived there, but I do remember a few factoids, at least some of which might warrant inclusion in the article at some point:
- Tacolneston Hall might be notable – see Boileau Baronets and also http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=%22tacolneston+hall%22
- the church is far removed from the centre of the village, which I remember being told was as a result of the black death
- alternative spelling Tacolnestone and alternative pronunciation (pronounced /ˈtækəlstuːn/), possibly tending more towards the north of the village
- etymology of the place name derived from Tas (the river Tas is nearby), colne (possibly meaning either hill or river), and ston (meaning place or settlement).
