Tone
[edit]"Take no prisoners" style indicates viewing the world in two-dimensional terms. There is no third dimension where mercy can be dealt. Instead, there is merely forward active aggression from which no one is spared. Mitigating circumstances, as in warfare, of injury or surrender do not exist in the “take no prisoners” mindset.
This part seems quite weird to me. Its tone is condemning, and the dimension analysis is just OR. Am I right? 88.112.62.154 (talk) 10:33, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
The paragraph in question is actually quite objective. I was struck by the style, and am of the opinion that this is more accurately categorized as original research. Sap2112 (talk) 02:34, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
Split page?
[edit]I think this page should be split into:
- Take no prisoners (Military strategy)
and
- Take no prisoners (Disambiguation)
with the latter containing, among others, a link to the former.

Should be merged with "No Quarter"
[edit]"Take no prisoners" is just a more modern variation on "give no quarter" and could be a candidate for merging with that page. Perhaps it would be a good idea to include fictional references to "take no prisoners" or the like. You hear a character scream "no prisoners!" in the movie 300, for instance. Perhaps a reference to "No Mercy" would also be useful? Mazryonh (talk) 02:02, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
- I agree this page should return to being a dab page as it was up to this edit with the addition an explanation that " is an informal way of ordering no quarter an illegal command under international humanitarian law. -- PBS (talk) 13:18, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
