Eras

Did a few tweaks in two phases (incl. the image issue), and here're a few further improovment ideas I thought of but am not sure of:

• Merge the "1975 European Tour" into the adjacent ones. The back cover of "Ricochet" refers to the France tour that fall, too, as a sorce recording; and RAH can be grouped together with the Australian tour by virtue of Hoenig's presence I think.
• Joining the "legs" of the '86 and '97 tours might be good too. More arguably, ditto fall '80 / winter '81, and the '90 concerts - at least I grouped them that way there^^.
• I've also grouped the '83 concerts under a single heading. Yes, the Japan and East Europe tours really were tours, but Frankfurt and Athens weren't part of them... and the resulting large number of one- or two-entry headings doesn't seem efficient to me.
• I'm not sure if there's any benefit from mentioning which, if any studio album was supported by tour; mentioning the Main Live Album would seem like a better choice (I mean, nobody talks about "the White Eagle tour", but rather "the Logos tour".) Then again, this is the Tangerine Tree article, not "Tours of TD", so even that might be unnecessary (since that same information is in the "venue/notes" column.)
• On a related note, should the other Dante gigs also be marked as such?

Looking good here. I don't consider myself an expert on the tours, so I relied on Fellows' list. Other lists may break things down differently.

• If we are going to go by actual tours, then there are going to be some "stubby" tables. Combining tours to prevent that rather negates the concept of splitting this huge list by tours. I did stick Fassbinder in the Japanese tour as that was a last minute concert that used elements of the Japanese tour, so it is thematically and chronologically related.
  • There's the question tho whether a "tour" has to be compact geographically or chronologically? I.e. what exactly is an "actual tour"? If we go by tour flyers etc. then we'll have to split eg. the Jan-Feb and Jun '76 tours apart.
    —The '83 case, BTW, is exactly the kind of similarity by which I'd suggest joining tours together. Zebbyworld is a good reference for those things.

OK, but note it in the title: 1975 British Tour — 1976 European Tours — Ricochet.

I merged the 1975 British Tour and 1976 European tours and added a led-in about Rcochet.

• Any album or track should be added to the notes column if and only if it can be identified as having come from that particular concert (Tournado). If the album is re-mixed (Sohoman) or from only part of the concert (Valentine Wheels) then it should be so noted. If an album is identified as having been produced from a series of concerts (Ricochet), then we can note that as a lead-in to the section.
  • This last part would seem to be an argument to pair together the latter two '75 tours.

With all the references out there, there is not much original research left in this area. It could be a list like Dave Matthews Band tours or a full article like Pink Floyd live performances.

Wikified

I just wikified the whole article. It is amazing the number of concert halls and churches with articles. I also anglicized Koln > Cologne and Firenze > Florence, as those are the article names. It could use a bit more cleanup, as the venues were originally cut & past from the tree files and they are not always consistent. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 21:08, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
