Why this article is "notable"[edit]

Aldarion is a very notable character because there is a _whole story_ about him (and Erendis) in Tolkien's work. There is thus more information available about him than from any King of Númenor (save probably Ar-Pharazon only) --21:00, 7 December 2007‎ 80.247.246.99

Aldarion's later years[edit]

Tolkien never completed his story. Thus all we know about his later years (after becoming King) are pretty vague (only source being Cristopher Tolkiens hints at the end of the story in Unfinished Tales.) "Aldarion and Erendis: The Mariner's Wife"[edit]

Could be more about this as literature -- it's a kind of "Can this marriage be saved?" character study which is rather different from almost anything else in Tolkien's writings. AnonMoos (talk) 01:55, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

First sentence[edit]

The first sentence ends with "which is the only story in the legendarium of Númenor before its fall." Is this referring to the moral fall when Numenorean kings became evil, or the actual wave of destruction? Because Lost Tales has some of the story of Elendil and his son in Numenor, but it had certainly fallen morally by that stage. --Mornarben (talk) 17:00, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
