Renaming "The Boogeyman"

I was thinking of renaming the current "The Boogeyman" article to "The Boogeyman (novel)" and putting Marty Wright's article insted. Joecashfire 04:42, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

Object. "The Boogeyman" is not commonly associated with Wright in particular. Moreover, Wright has only used the Boogeyman gimmick for several months. The article should be left at Marty Wright for the forseeable future. McPhail 21:45, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

Weekly Updates

This isn't OWW, the weekly updates are making the page just way too big and aren't necessary. I slimmed a lot of them down just now. Bdve 06:00, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

We Need Sources

We surely need sources for his Birthdate as someone written as (October 31). We also need sources for his place of recidence, and most importantly keep this in a NPOV. Joecashfire 15:14, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Bottomless Pit?

The artcile says that the term "Bottomless Pit" comes from a meteor crater. The term is originally taken from the Bible.

removed

i removed some stuff and did some clear up

"He may in fact be the brother of retired professional wrestler Charles Wright who in the early 1990s had the same type of gimmick involving a black magic voodoo type entrance and similar in ring styles, along with a smoking staff carried in the left hand and elaborate face paint. The personas of both individuals are the same on many levels, they are both of African American descent, share a last name and are only 3 years apart."

and a picture that doesnt come out well on the article:

Finishing Move

I have read elsewhere (WWE.com I think) that the Pumphandle he uses is called the 'Supernatural Slam'.

oh ok but he is still awsome!!!

I;m removing the part about the Boogeyman gimmick not being able to be copyrighted, because it can. I dosent matter how many people use the gimmick, it can still be copyrighted.

The recent cleanup

Whoever actually rolled up their sleeves and did it, I love you. Bdve 20:50, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

thank you, though it seem not long after your edits some anon user reverted it all back...... crazy --- Paulley 15:12, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
Who keeps changing it to look like crap? And why? Bdve 00:14, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
Whatever, I put the clean, readable, version back. Bdve 03:52, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
To be honest I liked the other layout better. This one sucks ass at 1280x728 resolution Joecashfire 02:23, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

Age

someone verify this

Given that his official birthdate is October 31st, 1964, that would make him 41 as of this presstime. OsFan 14:20, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Poor thing! He's doing so good with the fans and seems to be making a little name for himself and he's already 44. I wish he could be 30 since he seems to be starting up all this. He seems to be in great shape, but I don't know if he'll be able to wiggle like that passed 50. I guess, he has a good ten years ahead of him. TareTone 08:54, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

"Myspace Page"

Why does this keep getting added back, it's such an obvious fake, why would Marty Wright use a CGI image of himself from IGN as his profile image? Cosmic Larva 23:21, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Worms

Are all of the worms he eats real? I just dont see how is it posibble for a human being to consume so many of them...and he stuffs handfulls into his mouth.

Out of the little I have seen they were moving and such, but I would think WWE would be worried about pissing off animal rights activist. I imagine there would be some that would be furious if they were real.144.126.76.73 02:18, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
The trivia section has been updated with a link to an article on a wrestling website, which states that he does eat live worms.
It does happen, people can eat masses of nightcrawlers. There's even a Guinness World Record or two on it (and surely they'd be more worried about activists than the WWE?) -UK-Logician-2006 23:04, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

Worms are not animals they are classified as insects. And not saying he realy eats them or not but how can you fake seeing 5 to 6 worms crawl up and down his jaw when hes got his lips presed together.69.34.111.9 (talk) 20:16, 8 December 2008 (UTC)Jon

Uh vince mcmhaon declared himself god so offending people is something the WWE prolly doesn't worry to much about.

Please make a separate section on this as it has nothing to do with worms. Also, not everyone believes in God and we are not on a page about God or Vince McMahon, so please choose your comments more wisely and open-mindedly. Also sign your name TareTone 08:56, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

he was making a point about offending people and not everyone beileves killing animals or worms is wrong so your contradicting yourself by the way you should sign your name Rubberchix 13:46, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

"Official Site"

Why is it that Boogeyman's "official" site spells his name wrong? (Boogiman)Cosmic Larva 05:16, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

New look

Can anyone get a pic of his new look when he redebuted on Smackdown? I made mention of it in his article.Rollinman 08:24, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Photo

I think we should have a modern boogeyman photo of him.

Yeah, I agree!!

Well, I added one, but someone keeps putting that stupid one back up. VelvetKevorkian 03:59, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

The new image is a bad image, it has two logo's on it and aren't screenshots like this one against copyright?? Govvy 14:27, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Height

His height should be changed to 6'4 as it says on his Myspace page. Son of Kong

The myspace page you are ferrering to is a load of it. It's not really his. Cosmic Larva 21:39, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Well, we can't say for sure that it isn't his page or not, it could be. Son of Kong

Given that the main picture of him is taken from a video game, and the frequent typos as well as the many messeges about Mr. Vincent K. Mcmahon fornicating himself which appeaared during the time Boogey was unemployed, I'd be inclined to believe it was an imitator, considering all official sources seem to place Wright as being both a literate, and sane individual. But I guess you're right, there's a small chance it really is his, but since we have no way of telling for sure, I don't think it's right to use information from it in this article. Cosmic Larva 05:08, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

That's true but I still think that he's at least 6'4, he's not exactly a small man. Son of Kong

I hardly believe he is 6'10"... unless the person meant to type 5'10", which is more realistic. If I had to guess from what I have seen of him as compared to other wrestlers, I would guess he is no more than 6'2". Again, this is a guess, but I am almost certain he is NOT 6'10". ~kmwatcha

For height and weight, I have just message WWE.com and asked. See if I get a responce then we can add those specs. Govvy 11:37, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Boogeyslam

his finisher in the game Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 was called "Boogeyslam". its where he grabs his opponent's throat, turns them around, and slams backwards followed by a weird pin. does he really use that in real life? J.C. 04:19, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

ye, it when I played with him in the game the move doesn't look right to me. Govvy 10:37, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Missing Teeth

Anyone know the story behind the man's missing teeth? Could be meaningful for the purposes of the article. Particularly if he had them intentionally removed for the purposes of the gimmick. --EazieCheeze 19:13, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

theres no way that anyone would ask him to remove his teeth for a gimmick espeschaly since hes not realy a high ter wrestler he wolud be disfegord for life sailor cuteness-ready for love 22:15, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

It's possible, but I doubt it. And he is a high TIER wrestler, but his gimmick doesn't really promote that. Do you happen to run that fake Myspace? Kinda looks like it. Anyway, it's possible that they're blacked out. I also doubt that as well; they look pretty legit to me. The guy who gave him his gimmick (mental block. I remember reading an artical about it. Didn't the artical used to say it?) prolly made the face paint absolutely nessicary. (People probably take him more seriously as Boogey than as himself, =P) 71.112.59.209 02:57, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Tagetto

  • I just wanted to pop in to say the teeth are definitely NOT blacked out, since the worms crawl in and out of the gap. That's a pretty expensive CGI budget for something not all that important, if they just blacj it out, which would not make any sense.

I think it's more likely he lost them in an unrelated incident and incorperated it into his gimmick when he became the Boogeyman. Cosmic Larva 05:28, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

There use to be a part in the article that said he lost his teeth in a match via being kicked. But now it looks like that part has been removed. Govvy 11:26, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Last time i checked was that it said, he knocked his teeth out after fighting his dog. --Sha0000 11:06, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

I don't think his teeth not knocked out by dog, You are probably thinking of Chris Benoit who lost a tooth wrestling with his pet rottweiler. Duckmanuk 20:04, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

How Come

Why did he get released from the WWE?--Kingforaday1620 21:08, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Officially we won't know since WWE rarely ever say why they release wrestlers, the best we can do is "reports" from "news" sites. TJ Spyke 06:58, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

It was because of his lack of improvement, and lack of work ethic.58.168.131.241 13:50, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Played by different people?

Anyone else think when he changed his look, he got a bit smaller and more fare-skinned, then when he went back to the old look on Teusday, he got bigger and darker? 71.172.69.32 00:59, 16 August 2007 (UTC) 84.217.60.58 10:08, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

I was wondering this as well. He did seem different in the latest shows. As you say, lighter, and somewhat smaller, and maybe a bit less grotesque. I went back and watched some old shows, including some of the Saturday Night Main Events from 2006 and these different Boogeymen looks very different. So i would guess WWE use different people fro the role. Either that, or something Realy strange happenes when the guy is put in different lightings...

Keaper

I'd have to say the lighting did it. [Tyler] (talk/contribs) 03:52, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
This question has been asked by several people, and according to Wrestling News World, the Boogeyman has always been played by the same person. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.180.23.125 (talk) 14:17, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

When is he playing again? Has he stopped wrestling?

Anyone knowes when he will wrestle again? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.38.21.89 (talk) 09:20, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
