Improvements to make:

  • Discuss the 1500 last minute additional 0300 and 0600 shows added on opening night on IMAX screens in the US which is a first for either a major motion picture or an a major motion picture shot on IMAX. ProfessorTom (talk) 18:53, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Heath Ledger as The Joker" passages: Rewrite to be more retrospective, mention Nolan's attention to Ledger due to Brokeback Mountain performance; perhaps move interested actors earlier be part of initial casting information, then explore how Ledger approached the role
  • "Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent / Two-Face": Bring casting information to forefront, then explore approach to role. State also that it was during Thank You for Smoking that he confessed of his interest in "Good guys gone wrong" rather than purely Bad Guys as a reason for him making the role as Harvey Dent (the evntual entry of Two Face tied in nicely with his previous, honest and innocuous declaration).
  • "Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes": Mention re-casting at beginning (Nolan said somewhere that he offered it to Katie Holmes, but she declined), then explore approach to role
  • Find content to expand "Gary Oldman as Lieutenant James Gordon" since Nolan considers him part of the "triumvirate" with Batman and Harvey Dent, so he shouldn't be identified as secondary
  • Revise other secondary cast members and determine who is worth keeping or not based on prominence in film; aim for prose if necessary
  • "Filming": Expand on detail about how Nolan used IMAX, revise passages to be more retrospective instead of chronological (like the sentence "According to Michael Caine, the film would also shoot in London, Los Angeles, and Baltimore"), perhaps have a summary sentence to begin it
  • "Design": Replace Joker image with new one; provide summary sentence to cover subsection
  • "Marketing": Rewrite to be more retrospective
  • "Theatrical release": Seems overly indiscriminate with details about specific screenings -- summarize premiere with live music, midnight showings, record-breaking number of theaters, IMAX sell-outs, estimated BO performance (revise afterward)
  • "Reception": Possibly incorporate British and Australian reviews? After all, director and Batman actor are British, Ledger was Australian, and the film was released in Australia before the U.S., also be more globally encompassing.
  • "Sequel": Explore possibilities and hints at sequel.
  • "References": Clean-up regarding work= and publisher= and unnecessary quote= usage
  • "Passages on records broken": (Can be confirmed from sources like MSNBC) The Dark Knight just surpassed time to $300 million in a record 10 days and is expected to beat the current time to $400 million (43 days, Shrek 2, holiday weekend) with a total of 18 days.
  • Grammar: Article needs to be edited for grammatical mistakes.
  • "Plot": states "While hosting a fund raiser for Dent, Bruce Wayne discovers that the new D.A. is dating Rachel Dawes." Actually Wayne saw them together at his restaurant prior to the fund raiser.
  • Batman is not a 'superhero'.
