Official name is Devastator Peak
[edit]Just looked it up on BC basemap, and it's there; but the article name at present is climbers' slang, it seems; the official name should be the one used, unless the summit is widely-known e.g. Mount Cheam vs Cheam Peak. This page could be a redirect, with its contents relocated to Devastator Peak; entry also needed on the Devastator disambiguation page (which I'll do but will have to be fixed if what I'm suggesting is done....). I'm going to suggest, also, at the Mountains WiskiProject that the infobox have a "name status" field - official/gazetted, local use, climbers use/guidebooks etc.Skookum1 21:39, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
I thought so, I wasn't sure if it was called Devastator Peak or The Devastator. I was going to name it Devastator Peak, but I seen The Devastator name more so I named it The Devastator. Black Tusk 17:35, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- I just moved the contents to Devastator Peak and made this a redirect. Any further discussion please have on Talk:Devastator Peak.Skookum1 19:15, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- I have changed this from a redirect to a disambiguation page. The name The Devastator is not just used in climbing literature but also in geology, such as The Devastator Assemblage. Devastator Peak is known as The Devastator on the GSC website here. Volcanoguy 04:55, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
