Plot[edit]

I find it strange that the main issue driving the plot in this story is the uncanny resemblence between the protagonist and the king which leads to him being mistaken for the king by everyone from the king's persecutors to the woman he romances. His impersonation is the driving point and is not even mentioned in the summary. Is this to avoid being a spoiler (despite its revelation in the first chaper or two) or is it perhaps to much information. 75.177.47.137 (talk) 04:50, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, you have a good point. I have revised the plot description to take it into account. BPK (talk) 21:08, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Eternal Lover[edit]

I agree that the term "sequel" does not apply to the Eternal Lover with respect to the Mad King. However, neither does "prequel". I tried some potential descriptions and came up with "interlude", tho it's not very satisfactory either.

The ERBlist article http://www.erblist.com/erblist/esavagesum.html lists The Eternal Savage as a "cross-over" between the Mad King storyline and Tarzan. Not sure if that's the best term, either.

The dates of writing/publication indicate that The Eternal Lover and The Mad King were written and published virtually in parallel. I'm not sure what the final name/label of this heading should be, and I'm open to changes. I'd really like to avoid sequel/prequel, since in reference to the internal chronology of the stories, I'm sure we agree that the events of The Eternal Lover occur in between the Mad King and Barney Custer of Beatrice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tkech (talkcontribs) 10:53, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
