Are all those EU flags necessary? Wouldn't it look better with just the country flags. Zopwx2 (talk) 20:23, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are all those US flags necessary? Wouldn't it be better with just the states' flags? Eyesbomb (talk) 17:42, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that analogy works that well but wtvr. I just thought it looked kind of akward especially when the EU flag is used for countries like norway and then afterwards it has to specify (not EU). Zopwx2 (talk) 01:01, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Let me guess, you're obviously a yankee, right? No dude, seriously, if anyone would take away -my- flag (the European) one, I would get ANGRY. you WASP just don't understand. By the way, that's not only the EU flag, but also the European continent one, and Norway (and the others) are part of it. (talk) 11:08, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hahaha chill out. I wasn't going to change anything it was just a suggestion. Also make sure you have this article saved to your computer, becuase its only a matter of time before one of the other editors tries to delete it. btw Feel free to generalize and speculate about my nationality/race/religion all you want it doesn't bother me. Zopwx2 (talk) 20:43, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
gotcha, yer a yankee. which is no bad thing my man. but seriously, wrong suggestion. but still, I love you -still. and thankyou for yourinterest. sincerely. sinceramente. Eyesbomb (talk) 1:47, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

those flags are redundant, much like this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.59.208.11 (talk) 05:25, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is this whole *page* necessary?[edit]

Seriously, most articles on wikipedia I'm sure are just created to give people the satisfaction of saying 'I created a wikipedia article!!!'. Really, why does there need to be an article on this? Firstly, I can't see how this could help any one in anyway (oh, apart from people writing dissertations on TMV. This is invaluable to such people.). Secondly, why would anyone be interested in this? It's not interesting or informative in any important or fulfilling way.

'Wow, I know now how many cities The Mars Volta went to in 2005. Great. My life is complete.'

The only person who actually feels like their life is complete is the loser who made this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.88.27.208 (talk) 06:18, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Flagicons[edit]

I am starting a discussion about the flagicons. They are unneeded per WP:MOSICON and links to the country names or just the country names after the first link is provided is preferred. There is a major problem with the European flagicons and then behind some of them have "not EU" for countries like Switzerland. The only revert that addressed the flagicons with a reason for keeping was "rv all gigographies on Wikipedia have the flags or are in the process of getting the flags, removing them all at once is regarded as vandalism at least.", which is not true since most gigographies do not have them and are not getting them and their removal is definitely not WP:VANDALISM. Aspects (talk) 03:23, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please check the discussion here before taking further action: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_%28icons%29#Use_of_flag_icons_in_concert_tours_or_festivals Eyesbomb (talk) 15:25, 3 September 2010
The two users keep not wanting to discuss and force their way through changing the article as they please, with awful and embarassing mistakes like the most recent, hungry instead of Hungary, and trying to portray me as a vandal while I've been the creator and caretaker for years, of this article. I encourage at this point people to report them and to supervise they don't keep on changing it hystrerically before consensus says the flags are uselless for a better scrolling, they are falsly claiming it is the case while it's not: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_%28icons%29#Use_of_flag_icons_in_concert_tours_or_festivals Eyesbomb (talk) 22:25, 3 September 2010
Just minutes after coming off of your block for violating 3rr, you make further reversions without trying to discuss to change consensus. Sorry, but you made no discussion here as to the validity of the flagicons being used in the article and therefore will be reverted back because at this point both in this article and at the MoS there is a consensus not to use these flagicons. Through your edits summaries and talk pages, you make it clear that you think you WP:OWN this article and no one has the right to challenge what you put in the article, but that is not the way that Wikipedia works. Aspects (talk) 21:47, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am going to remove the flagicons again because the edit summary, "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_%28icons%29#Use_of_flag_icons_in_concert_tours_or_festivals" is a discussion that does not support adding these flagicons to an article and cannot be used as justification here.
Eyesbomb, you have yet to discuss the issues I brought up with the flagicons here, such as the European Union supernational flags. And your point about scrolling through the flagicons is reduced when you include these flags because no longer is the reader looking at the country flagicons but instead are looking the supernational flag
And you revert my deletion of material that is not even about The Mars Volta tours without an explanation. Since they are not tours of this band, they do not belong in the article. Aspects (talk) 17:57, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
