Previous references to the 1970s Christian group

[edit]

The previous references to the 1970s Christian group that has self-assumed the title of "The Twelve Tribes" can now be found at The Church in Island Pond. Thank you. IZAK 09:10, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Twelve Tribes = The Israelite

[edit]

Please take note that this title ONLY redirects to Israelite which is the article about the Israelites, ancestors of the Jewish people, who are the ORIGINAL and most important Twelve Tribes -- the twelve sons of Jacob -- mentioned many times in the Hebrew Bible. Thank you. IZAK 09:10, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I added a head in the article Israelite before the article starts, in case people who were looking for "the Twelve tribes/Church in Island pond" new religious movement typed in "The twelve tribes". Andries 18:30, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
This was proper, but that group does call themselves the Twelve Tribes and has abandoned the other name. They might be wrong to do so, but that's not really our call. I moved them to The Twelve Tribes (New religious movement) which might avoid confusion. As the most common and proper use of "The Twelve Tribes" is Israelite I did nothing to alter it as a redirect to that article, nor would I supportt anyone else changing it.--T.
