Wirecutter's association with The Awl[edit]

Right now the Wirecutter page here is redirecting to a page about The Awl. On The Awl's page I see a source claiming that The Wirecutter is a sister site to the awl, but the source cited doesn't appear to claim that.

I believe that the Wirecutter should have its own page, as its generated significantly more news coverage than The Awl: The New York Times, Time Magazine (top 50 sites of 2013), Pando Daily, Forbes, TechCrunch and LifeHacker.

It is cited in places like ABCNews, Yahoo! News, and lots of other mainstream news sites.

The Wirecutter has an Alexa Global Rank of 9,542 and a USA rank of 3,431. Comparatively, The Awl Has an Alexa Global Rank of 21565 and USA rank of 7,165 12

Similarly Quantcast shows 50,256 daily uniques and 97,782 page views source.

The Awl shows about half of this.

Furthermore The Wirecutter is also composed of their offshoot site, TheSweetHome which is nearly just as big as TheAwl on its own.

I do not see a justification for redirecting The Wirecutter to The Awl. For the time being, I will redirect The Wirecutter to the article on its founder, Brian Lam. I also agree that The Wirecutter should have its own article.—Finell 05:56, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
