Claims about Waters and discord in the band[edit]

In one passage, Bob Ezrin insinuates that Roger was consciously plotting a conspiracy to set up Rick to fail, but to my knowledge, nobody else has confirmed or denied that claim. I know that Roger and Rick had different personalities, but I don't think they necessarily hated each other's guts - if they did, then it's highly unlikely that they would've been bandmates for as long as they were and hey, they collaborated on "Us and Them", "Stay" and "Burning Bridges" in addition to songs that were written by the band as a whole in terms of songwriting.

A lot of biographies insinuate that Rick was a gentle soul who would never hurt a fly and Roger was an egotistical bully and I find that claim very insulting and hurtful. In regards to Rick's dismissal from the band, I think he should've taken responsibility for it - after all, he was making little or no effort to contribute to the album's sessions, had an addiction to cocaine addiction, allegedly told Roger to f**k off and refused to cut short his family holiday in Rhodes - instead of just squarely blaming Roger for the action. Gilmour and Waters had their fights, but I don't see why they should fight with each other, let alone dislike each other's guts, when they were so much alike and had similar traits.

In retrospect, Roger has lauded Rick's organ and piano on "The Great Gig in the Sky" in the Dark Side of the Moon documentary and another thing is that in his interviews, Roger didn't fixate on his grievances with his bandmates, let alone diss their musicianship, but it is true that he called the lyrics from Gilmour third-rate.115.64.25.61 (talk) 07:02, 27 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
