Not sure what his alcoholism really has to do with it.

I agree about the alcoholism... certainly not a motivating factor. I left it in there for the time being, though I did add some info about his origins. A good summary for Sutpen exists at http://www.mcsr.olemiss.edu/~egjbp/faulkner/glossarys.html#Sutpen_Thomas. I think most of it could/should be incorporated. I'm not sure if any of it should be set into different sections or whatnot (I'm a bit new to the editing process) (Kbasford (talk) 22:27, 1 June 2010 (UTC))[reply]
