==Importance==

Mid importance. As a county seat the city is reasonably notable on a local level within the state of Tennessee due to their importance as centers of governance, education, commerce, recreation, and (usually) population, not necessarily of importance, however, outside of Tennessee.

==Quality== not yet assessed I am not sufficiently knowledgeable about the subject, but i am watching the Science Channel at 9:30PM omn 12/12/11 and it shows film about "Mega-quakes" happening spontaneously in the middle of plowed fields in TIPTONVILLE. They have the appearance of very large dirt devils and they are everywhere in the film shot from helicopters. I cannot imagine that Channel playing with overly exaggerated facts. This seems to me to be worthy of inquiry by competent geologists who are knowledgeable about both the area of that town & the phenomenon taking place, [literally dozens and dozens happening in this one place, at one time], during a flyover of several minutes.

I have made no changes. I am a retired trial lawyer trained in observation and accurate reporting, over a career spanning 50 years. Ed Hamada Newton, MA
