Not clear (to me)

I’m not sure I understand this bit;

Eli finds the idea strange, but after her mother tells her that she accepts if she chooses death, she decides to go along with the idea and allows herself to be rocked while her mother feeds her rice milk from a bottle.

This is what I think it means;

Eli finds the idea strange, but when her mother tells her that she understands her, and will accept her decision if she chooses death, Eli decides to go along with the idea. She allows herself to be rocked while her mother feeds her rice milk from a bottle.
