Tokenism Contribution

Tokenism can be looked at a positive attribute by high-class organization; it is actually not true diversity. The casualties among tokenism are the impacts between what that one minority can represent as a whole for that one ethnicity perception. Whether a token character may be stereotypical or not, tokenism can initiate a whole biased perceived sense of thought that that may conflict with how people objectify a specific race, culture, gender, or ethnicity. Tokenism in the workplace Can express how token workers, that are extracted strictly from affirmative action may experience work stress and psychological symptoms. Proportional impact on gender and race is important to keep a healthy environment for the non-minority, and minorities.1.With work experience and among the female and African American male tokens in a specific setting. Examining the minorities as a segregated group and shows the relation of the status-based group being excluded from perceived image of the ideal worker. 2.

PEER REVIEW: 1. Check the contribution for grammatical errors. Starting with the first sentence, "Tokenism can be looked at a positive attribute..." Just make sure you clean it up. 2. Where in the Tokenism page would this be added? It is important to know to see if it truly fits with the work around it. 3. I see that you have attempted to insert sources (1. 2.) but that didn't work out. Try to redo the links to the sources. Also, are you sure that only 2 sources are all that this addition would need? There are several claims throughout the addition that would most likely need sources. For example "Whether or not, tokenism can initiate a whole biased perceived sense of thought that that may conflict with how people objectify a specific race, culture, gender, or ethnicity." It would be nice to have information to back up this claim. Danteglauria (talk) 01:19, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

PEER REVIEW (2018) While the article has the history of tokenism, it doesn’t quite enough detail on the history of it before the 1950s and its origins. The article does give a few examples of tokenism in the media, but their mostly examples of tokenism in the field of television. It could use more movie references like for cases like Ernie Hudson in Ghostbusters and Reginald Vel Johnson in Die Hard. There not only tokenism because there are only black people in the cast but also is a characteristic and provides comic relief to the movie. Tokenism goes back to the origins of blackface and minstrel shows, and that could be exposed as being a form of tokenism. MikeMovie98 (talk) 01:19, 27 November 2018 (EST)

Article Critique

REVIEW (March 2020): Here are my comprehensive results of an evaluation of the “Tokenism” Wikipedia page. It seems like each reference on the Wiki page is appropriate and reliable. The hyperlinks seem to be in working order and the random citations I checked appeared to be reliable based on Wikipedia’s standards for reliable sources. However, I did notice in a handful of areas there are facts without citations of any kind; these areas were marked with a “citation needed” reminder. I was never distracted throughout the article, for the most part it was concise and all of the information was relevant. The majority of the articles referenced are scholarly sources, like textbooks and journals. They generally appear to be neutral sources. There is no bias noted. I did notice, however, that in certain places where the editor is giving an example of tokenism in media, they are not providing any other points of view to the idea. For example, in the CW’s The 100 paragraph, the editor presented the facts accurately from the source, however I would like to know if the CW has come out about this extremely important issue and accusation. Maybe this could be added if such a thing exists. If someone happened to disagree with the general themes of this article and they read about the characters of color in the cast of The 100 being treated as such, they would be skeptical. I would consider other motives or maybe the CW being ignorant to this trend in their writing. I believe that this kind of content should be included in the page so that there is no confusion as to what intentions there are, and that there are other opinions.
