Please see rationale at Talk:Lunt Silversmiths. --CPAScott 14:57, 17 August 2006 (UTC) This is an additional bit of imformation on the Ohio Territory connection with Moulton. The Tilton family having arrived in the late 1630's in New England in one of the mass Puritan emmigarations from England settled on land along Buffalo Creek, Ohio County, Virginia which was later confirmed by a deed issued By Governor Patrick Henry. They then moved further west to the west bank of the Ohio River and settled near Marietta. The Tilton family is creditted as being the first non Indian family of record in the Ohio Territory, approximately in 1766. Likely they would have known the Moultons as Tiltonsville and Marietta are not too far from each other. I am a direct descendent of the Tilton family and still live in Ohio.Information exurpted from a book "Tilton Territory: A Historical Narrative--Warren Township, Jefferson County, Ohio published in 1977 and written by Robert H. Richardson. Submitted by Lauralee Hutson[reply]

Propose delisting from cleanup[edit]

Removed a lot of extraneous material, removed double references to the same source. Edited some lines for NPOV. Propose de-listing from cleanup and wikify. Zohair Ahmad (talk) 10:31, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ormesby removal[edit]

The "disambiguation" tag was 2.5 years old. This means no one knows or cares enough to fix it. It clutters the article, and to what purpose? Both of the Ormesby villages in Norfolk County, England, are within one mile of each other! In addition, "Norfolk County" is surely a precise enough geographical location for the purposes of this article. So I removed "Ormesby" from the article.Nick Beeson (talk) 15:36, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How old?[edit]

List of oldest companies has Towle Silversmiths founded in 1690, citing sources (that, for all I know, may or may not be reliable). This article says 1857, with no sources. Surely this can be cleared up somehow. --Jtle515 (talk) 20:28, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
