1E discontinued date

[edit]

Per the prior request, I have 'wikified' this page, cleaning up the information and removing the link. I did not spend the additional time converting all of the horsepower and torque figures into kW and Nm, however, so it is not yet completely conforming to standard.--GHoosdum 20:50, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Source of all that data: [1]--WEKS 21:33, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone check if the horsepower facts for the 1E is correct ?? It might seam so but I'm not sure. So please , check that , although you cant find much facts on that engine (1E). THNX! ! !

Can someone clarify what is meant with "discontinued after 1990" in the 2E section? Does it mean that it was discontinued at some point after 1990 ( in that case it is not very precise ) or does it mean that 1990 was the last year? ( in that case it is wrong, as my sister-in-law has a 1993 Starlet with a 2E-E).PerDaniel 20:09, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Toyota 1E

[edit]
  • Im very curious why there are no specs of the 1E model... i really want to find them, do you have any idea where to search? Im thinking of sending a letter to the toyota company... but i guess its easier starting here.
  • Sending a letter would be a great idea, for the fact that you'll be getting official info.

Because online you won't find almost anything..only horsepower, displacement and the amount of valves probably....so..I think sending a letter would be a great idea....

confusion about the c.c (power) of an engine

[edit]

In thirld world countries many old, reconditiond, sold after car crush etc engines are avaiiable in the market .Most of the time the number printed on the engine body is fake. Also the accompanied papers contain many data changed intentionaly to accomodate irresonable & impractical laws and regulations of the country. Under this situation how can I be sure about the production date of the engine can any body tell me that ?And also how do I know about the c.c ?

  • Looking on the exhaust side of the engine block, there should be written/stamped on there what model engine it is (ex. 1E, 3E, 4A, 7A, 2JZ ect., you won't find a suffix on the engine block)
By knowing what model engine it is you can find out what the cc (displacement) is...
I have no idea about how to get the production date though...I hope I helped in some small way...

4E SOHC or DOHC

[edit]

Is the 4E SOHC or DOHC? A quick search shows only the 4E-F, 4E-FE and 4E-FTE variants, which are all DOHC. I can't find any SOHC variants (which would have codes like 4E-C (carb SOHC), 4E-E (EFI SOHC) or 4E-EU (EFI SOHC Japanese emission controls). Mind you, I only searched for a few minutes.  Stepho  talk  23:27, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
