I think model codes are not 100% correct, at least for Europe.

ADE / NDE / etc are model codes for Corolla, however there is one more letter (E at the end is Corolla platform).

Toyota uses teh same coding scheme for all markets. But the article hasn't documented the changes made in the 1990s when Toyota started using 2 letter engines and/or two letter platform codes. In your examples, AD stands for the AD engine family and E stands for the Corolla platform. So together they make the ADE code. Likewise for ND engine plus E platform for NDE. See List of Toyota platforms. I will try to document the newer codes in this article but I'm busy, so it may take me a few weeks (remind me if I forget).  Stepho  talk  23:02, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
