Propose renaming "Trachyte (genus)"
[edit]The current name, "Trachytes," risks confusion with the type of rock, Trachyte, which is how I found this article in the first place - a link from an article about geology misdirected me here. It's bad form that the singular and plural of the same word link to two entirely different articles. Riverhugger (talk) 18:22, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
- Update: I realized that all autoconfirmed users can make this change. Actions taken:
- 1. Moved page "Trachytes" to page "Trachyte (genus)" and then to page "Trachytes (genus)" when I realized I had the wrong genus name.
- 2. Edited redirect page for "Trachytes" to redirect to Trachyte instead of Trachytes (genus).
- 3. Audited all pages that link to Trachytes to check that any referring to the genus do not refer instead to the type of rock.
